Don't miss out because when I begin to offer individual pieces on eBay there will be no going back!
An awesome set of Mikasa "Santa Fe" dinnerware with a very attractive Southwest decor American Indian design motif and a nice semi-gloss finish. Style# CAC24. Made in Malaysia. A nearly complete set of service for eight with a few missing pieces plus a few extra pieces as follows:
8 dinner plates
8 sandwich plates
8 shallow "salad" plates (or bowls)
7 deep "soup" bowls
7 coffee cups
1 sugar bowl
1 large rectangular serving dish
1 slightly larger deep "soup" bowl (for serving?)
The shallow "salad" plates double as servers to hold the deep soup" bowls. This is important because the soup bowls have no lip -- if you microwave re-heat in these bowls it's very difficult to carry them to the table without first placing the bowl in a "salad" plate (it's a perfect fit as shown). In my opinion these plates are also suitable for salads because they help keep cherry tomatoes from running away as they're deeper than a sandwich plate.
About the saucers: Notice they don't have a center depression for the foot of a common coffee or tea cup. That's because these cups have flat bottoms without feet. In my opinion this makes these saucers great for double-duty use as bread/butter plates, snack plates, hors d'oeuvres plates, etc.
About the coffee cups: They have a shiny glaze on the inside and some cups have faint hairline fractures in the glaze that show up when wet then disappear when dry. This is common with china.
